Igredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 4 hamburger buns
- Marinara sauce
- 4 slices mozzarella cheese
- Pepperoni
- Parmesan cheese
- Butter
- Salted pizza seasoning
Instructions
1. Begin by heating up the grill or skillet, or whatever you are using to prepare the burgers.
2. In a bowl, mix the ground beef, Italian sausage, and pizza seasoning (oregano, basil, marjoram, and garlic).
3. Divide the mixture into 8-ounce (1/2 lb) portions, or smaller 6-ounce portions if preferred. Flatten the portions into patties, making them about 1/2 inch larger than the buns.
4. Press your thumb into the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up during cooking. Grill the burgers for about 4 minutes on the first side.
5. While the burgers are cooking, heat the marinara sauce in a skillet over medium-low heat. You can also heat the pepperoni in a skillet or on aluminum foil on the grill for a few minutes.
6. Flip the burgers and cook until they reach the desired temperature (140°F for medium), which usually takes another 2 to 4 minutes. About a minute before removing from the grill, place the cheese slices on each burger.
7. Place the buns face-down on the grill for a minute or two to give them a toasted touch.
8. Assemble the burgers by placing them on the buns, then adding the warm marinara sauce, pepperoni, and sprinkling Parmesan cheese. The burgers are ready to serve!
